Nobody has actually asked me most of these questions. But if enough people exist in the world, someone has thought them. This page is for those people.
General Questions
Were you born in August?
No, September. The name is a family thing. I’ve been explaining this my entire life and I expect to continue doing so.
Who were you named after?
My great grandfather Weldon “Gus” August Ploger. I never met him. By all accounts he was a character. I choose to take that as a compliment on his behalf and mine.
How do you pronounce your last name?
GID-ree. It’s Cajun.
Where are you from?
New Orleans, Louisiana. Specifically the kind of New Orleans that people from New Orleans recognize, not the kind that ends up on a travel blog.
Do you have a wife?
No, but I’d like one. Applications are open. This is not a bit.
Do you have any children?
No. See above.
Are you related to [XYZ] Guidry?
Almost certainly not. Guidry is one of the most common surnames in Louisiana. We are a large and distributed people. I wish your Guidry well.
Myers–Briggs Type Indicator
INTJ. Make of that what you will. I certainly have.
Tabs or spaces?
Tabs. Spaces are a moral failing.
Vi or Emacs?
Vi. I don’t have anything against Emacs users personally. I just don’t think we’d get along.

Manga
Akira by Katsuhiro Otomo (1982 – 1990). If you haven’t read it, fix that. If you’ve only seen the movie, the manga will make you feel like you’ve been living in a basement.
Movie
Blade Runner by Ridley Scott (1982). I also am a fan of the book it was based on — Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick (1968). The movie and the book are asking different questions. Both are worth your time.
Video Game
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords (2004) is the best Star Wars installment and video game of all time. This title could never be made in the current era due to the mature themes surrounding the story.
I love Kreia .
